11 A Hard Days Night 2:34
12 Norwegian Wood (take 4) 2:30

The disc begins with a very early take of Cant Buy Me Love (the second take, to
be exact), which shows the remarkable transformation in style this song
underwent in the recording studio. In this early take the backing vocals makes
this song sounds a bit soulful and Pauls singing is more raucous than in the
officially released version (in addition, George guitar solo in this take seems
to be going nowhere). Another interesting track is the outtake of Im the Walrus
here included, which lacks the string orchestra overdubs and has a somewhat
different backing track with a heavier sound. Also of interest is the very first
take of Misery, which is virtually indistinguishable from the officially
released version, save for the sound of Georges guitar solo in the middle and
the vocals in the fade-out. This fact corroborates the observation made by
George Martin that the Beatles had already arranged and abundantly rehearsed all
their material before recording their entire first album in one grueling
marathon session, which lasted 12 hours. Also worth mentioning, by virtue of its
mistakes, are the two takes here included of Day Tripper. These takes in turn
corroborate the assertion made by historians of the Beatles recording sessions
that the recording of Day Tripper was one of the most rushed sessions of their
career due to time constraints (the officially released version even includes a
noticeable voice dropout towards the end). Also of interest is the soaring cover
of Leave my Kitten Alone by John and the 3rd outtake of Hard Days Night here
included, where George plays a very bland solo, instead of the inspired,
dissonant arpeggios that he played in the officially released version.
Volume 3
1 Ob-La Di Ob-La-Da 2:56
2 Tomorrow Never Knows 2:57
3 A Day In The Life 5:10
4 Yes, It Is 3:07
5 I Saw Here Standing There (Take 10) 3:02
6 Norwegian Wood (Take 1) 2:04
7 Not Guilty Mp3 3:15
8 Across The Universe 3:46
9 While My Guitar Gently Weeps 3:27
10 Ticket To Ride 3:23

Well, one of my favorite URTs! Ob-la-di ob-la-da, A day in the life and Yes it
is show the very good quality of this rarities compilation. And The very
intimist While my guitar gently weeps version. Ah, I forgot it, its amazing the
alternate version of Across the universe! Five star of five. Excellent. Buy or
download it!
Volume 4
1 One After 909 3:17
2 A Taste Of Honey (take 7) 2:17
3 I Feel Fine (Take 7) 2:49
4 Yer Blues 4:02
5 Blues Jam 3:48
6 Not Guilty 4:25
7 Get Back 2:17
8 Mailman, Bring Me No More Blues 1:52
9 Do You Want To Know A Secret (Take 8) 2:44
10 All You Need Is Love 5:00

A quality sounding disk. The One After 909 is an interesting sounding version,
unlike the official version or other takes of the song from the Get Back
sessions. The Yer Blues song is just great, has a very Jimi Hendrix-sounding
feel to it. Mailman Bring Me No More Blues is quite literally a classic, a
little known gem, paying homage to Buddy Holly. Get Back sung in German is also
good to hear, and not one of the songs that is commonly on boots. altho this
disk has quite a variety of music from different years (from the innocent
sounding Do You Want to Know a Secret? to the heavy Yer Blues) it works well as
a disk.
Volume 5
1 Christmas Time Is Here Again 1:09
2 Because 2:16
3 Revolution 3:18
4 I Me Mine 1:46
5 Strawberry Fields Forever 3:07
6 Hey Jude 5:37
7 Magical Mystery Tour 2:34
8 Whats The New Mary Jane 6:14
9 Lady Madonna 2:17
10 The One After 909 2:56
11 Ob La Di Ob La Da - CTIHA 3:33

Fantastic! The CD collects some Beatles hits -outtakes of Strawberry fields
forever, Magical mystery tour and Hey Jude, for example- and fills the rest of
the time with some unknown tracks, like Whats the new Mary Jane... or Christmas
time is here again. All in CD quality, of course. Dont wait more and hear it!
Volume 6
1 Come and Get It 2:28
2 Hold Me Tight 2:36
3 Ill Be On My Way 2:00
4 Strawberry Fields Forever 4:02
5 Its All Too Much 2:27
6 Twelve Bar Original 3:51
7 I Hate To See 1:01
8 Shes A Woman 6:32
9 Whats The New Mary Jane 6:49
10 Dig It 8:16

Highlights on CD 6:
* 12-Bar Original : another version is on Anthology
* Come And Get It: on Anthology
* Ill Be On My Way: unreleased Beatles composition played for the BBC. Already
on Live At The BBC.
* Whats The New Mary Jane: mix different than on CD 5
* Dig It: the best song on this disc IMHO.
Volume 7
1 I Saw Her Standing There 3:11
2 Too Much Monkey Business 2:04
3 This Boy 2:32
4 If I Needed Someone 2:45
5 Shes A Woman 5:44
6 Im A Loser 2:38
7 Yesterday 1:58
8 Crying, Waiting, Hoping 2:11
9 Everybodys Trying To Be My Baby 2:22
10 Shout 2:02
11 Yer Blues 4:02
12 Nowhere Man 2:24
13 Anna (Go To Him) 3:02
14 Twist and Shout 3:17

Well, this CD doesnt have too much surprises... but if you are a Beatles fan and
want to complete your collection, buy it. Why I say theres no surprises? cause
all tracks are live and for BBC sessions, nothing more. Perhaps the best is Yer
blues, featuring John Lennon, Eric Clapton and Keith Richards. But you can hear
it in URT4, too... Two stars of five.
Volume 8
1 Babys In Black 2:35
2 You Really Got A Hold On Me 3:09
3 The Fool On The Hill 2:44
4 To Know Her Is To Love Her 2:47
5 A Hard Days Night 2:35
6 Day Tripper 3:34
7 All You Need Is Love 4:35
8 Till There Was You 2:37
9 And I Love Her 2:19
10 Cant Buy Me Love 2:14
11 I Feel Fine 2:15
12 Hey Jude 7:43

Exactly the same like URT7: live tracks and some BBC songs. Although theres some
interesting songs, like Hey Jude in the David Frost Show. The rest? Just the
boys singing known tracks live in different countries. If you are a Beatles fan
and got it with the other 7 cds, congratulations! You have now a very good
collection in your hands!
