Tracks list

Welcome to the lush, opulent yet hidden world of Lehto, the new moniker
of the Luebeck based artist formerly known as Keno.

Lehto translates from Finnish as “grove” and the flourishing,
luscious beauty of 'Between All Days', the debut album under this new pseudonym,
readily conjures up images of dense, luxuriant coppices and remote, wooded
havens where the natural slumber and requiescence is provided with the perfect
soundtrack.

The album title itself refers to the night - a time of peace of course, but also
a time where another, shrouded world is going about its business. This is
especially felt and heard on some of the more introspective tracks on the album,
such as the eerie, string laden 'Neve' and 'Footprints'. Elsewhere, the serene,
piano led nautical piece 'Pacifics' recalls the stillness yet power of the
ocean.

Not all the songs on the album simply allow the listener to lose themselves in
the wonder of nature though. 'Emerald Eyes' is one of two tracks that features
Hamburg based vocalist Jepka aka Saskia Schoen. The self penned track meditates
on the disappointments of a broken relationship, albeit with the hope of
brighter days ahead. The other, entitled 'To the River', is also written by
Schoen, and is a broodier piece where shimmering keys give way to more sonorous
strings and a tale of the fragility and insecurity of having a partner who is,
at heart, a wanderer. Vocals for both songs were recorded at the world renowned
Yeah Yeah Yeah studios in Hamburg.

Elsewhere on the album, 'Volta' sees thundering bass lines and sweeping strings
make way for solid drums, playful woodwinds and wonderful strings, conjuring up
images of nature’s hidden nocturnal world. Volta is co-written by
longtime friends David Nesselhauf on electric bass and Mark Matthes (also known
from the Motion Orchestra) on violins. The vivid 'Kioto' features the drum
programming of leftfield, experimental guest producer Marenn Sukie who, in
recent years, released music for the brilliant Banoffee Pies imprint.

'Between All Days' evokes the beauty of the natural world and the frailty of our
place in it. At the same time, Lehto’s trademark strings and drums take
us somewhere otherworldly - that nocturnal Nordic copse that the artist takes
his new found name from; a place with an unusual, enigmatic allure; a place you
can visit in your mind whilst listening to the twelve stunning songs on this
album.
