Nocturne No.13 in B Minor, Op. 119, N 193 The greatest French interpreter of the works of Faure. A multi-awarded pianist. Complete piano works with rarely recorded works. Gabriel Fauré was one of the most important composers in France in the second half of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. Although influenced by German and French Romanticism (Hector Berlioz, César Franck), Fauré developed "an independent, poetically nuanced, strongly diatonic tonal language based on a harmony enriched by manifold differentiations". If, in comparison to his contemporaries Claude Debussy or his descendant Maurice Ravel, he is less present in international musical life, this is probably due to the fact that, in addition to stylistic reasons, he left behind hardly any large-scale works. His compositions for piano, written between the 1860s and the 1920s, include some of his best-known works. Much of Fauré's piano music is difficult to play, but rarely virtuosic in style. The composer was not fond of superficial virtuosity, and the predominant characteristic of his piano music is therefore delicacy and classical restraint. DOWNLOAD ALBUM [Hi-Res]
