On Ping Machine‘s third album, DES TRUCS PAREILS the assembly (14
musicians), continues his quest for excess genres, modernity and maturity. In
his new compositions, Fred Maurin favored a poetic musical architecture and
contrasts, highlighting the links between jazz and popular music on the one hand
and contemporary music on the other. In this ongoing research, Ping Machine
enjoys pushing the rules: melodic and harmonic explorations, use of spectral
techniques of writing, development microtonal or serial, confrontations blocks
of sound, interweaving of writing and improvisation in order to project the
listener in real image sequences, sound conducive to escape.

Coup de cœur pour ce quasi big band aux envolées chaudes et puissantes,
au sein duquel chaque musicien s’exprime dans un état de liberté
dont on ressent vite le besoin à la manière d’une dépendance.
