Percussionist Mike Dillon has made a foray into the film world by writing the
score for a new documentary entitled Kharma Bums that will make its L.A.
premiere later this month. The 69-minute documentary follows a 130-mile stand up
paddle board journey, beginning at the Kumbh Mela, the largest gathering of
humans ever recorded. Kharma Bums follows four friends, as they discover the
beauty, chaos and wonders of this massive festival, while at the same time,
figuring out the logistics of continuing their journey via paddle board on this
sacred yet polluted river.
