Aaron (Alexander Aarøen Pedersen) is a composer from Northern Norway,
currently residing in Oslo. He has experience composing for orchestra, chamber
ensembles, big band, jazz quartets, choirs and rock bands.
In 2018, Alexander was awarded the prestigious Steve Kaplan award from ASCAP,
for the conducting and recording of his own music the Hollywood Studio Orchestra
at 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles.
Starting out as a rock pianist in the arctic town of Storsteinnes, he soon
discovered his passion for film music. The magical collaboration between
director Steven Spielberg and composer John Williams ignited a powerful spark,
showcasing the vast possibilities of audiovisual storytelling.
In quick succession came the love for classical music and jazz. This led Aaron
to take on a Bachelor’s degree in jazz performance and composing,
followed by a Master’s in Film Scoring. After completing his studies,
Aaron has been composing feverishly, most prominently a Trumpet Concerto, Alto
Saxophone Concerto, a children’s Ballet and the concept album Bivrost.
Throughout his artistic career, Aaron has emphasized the compelling link between
story and music, and continually strives to create imaginative works with a
resonant, human quality.
