Allegro The Dover Quartet made news when it won all three special prizes as well as the top prize at the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition. Soon after, the quartet was being reviewed and interviewed by mainstream media such as the Wall Street Journal and NPR in addition to music-centric publications like Musical America and The Strad magazines. It is very consistently complimented for its homogeneous sound and insightful interpretations. Its members -- Joel Link and Bryan Lee, violins; Melina Pajaro-van de Stadt, viola; Camden Shaw, cello -- approach music with an eye for details, whether its how the instruments sounds blend or how to shape a particular phrase. The quartet was formed in 2008 at the Curtis Institute where its members were students. It has been mentored by several leading quartet musicians, including Shmuel Ashkenasi, Peter Wiley, Arnold Steinhardt, and Michael Tree. It has performed in recital and at festivals across North America and in Europe, and is active in community outreach projects.
