Mel Tormé - vocals
John Campbell - piano
Bob Maize - double bass
Donny Osborne - drums
Frank Wess–Harry Edison big band

This spontaneous set finds Mel Tormé in typically fine form. The first seven
selections, which find Tormé backed by pianist John Campbell, bassist Bob
Maize and drummer Donny Osborne, have three medleys, including three songs
having Sing in their title and a definitive eight-theme Guys and Dolls Medley.
As if that were not enough, Tormé is joined at this concert from the 1990
Concord Jazz Festival by the all-star Frank Wess-Harry Edison Orchestra for Down
for Double and rollicking renditions of Youre Driving Me Crazy and Sent for You
Yesterday and Here You Come Today. Mel Tormé fans will have to get this
delightful session.~Scott Yanow
