Dr. Jazz This release is a blend of the Django Reinhardt-Stephane Grappelli quintet of the Hot Club of France and David Grismans Dawg music, the latter being no surprise since Grisman adds his distinctive mandolin to the CD. Jorgenson is a talented guitarist known for his tenure with Chris Hillmans short-lived Desert Rose Band, but hes also right at home with swing era gems like Youre Nobodys Sweetheart Now and Reinhardts Mabel, and his own compositions Red Shoelaces and Mirror In Blue fit in beautifully. Violinist Daryl Anger, a veteran of Grismans group and the Turtle Island String Quartet, is also no stranger to classic swing and performs well.
