Meredith dAmbrosio - Russian Lullaby ********** ABOUT THE ALBUM 1 disc(s) - 21 track(s) Total length: 00:37:01 Main artist: Meredith dAmbrosio Composer: Various Composers Label: Sunnyside Genre: Kinderen 16-Bit CD Quality 44.1 kHz - Stereo ©℗ 1994 Sunnyside Records This is a project that clearly meant a lot to singer-pianist Meredith DAmbrosio. Dedicated to her granddaughter, the music features DAmbrosio performing 21 lullabies, including an original, six songs by Alec Wilder and quite a few numbers that are traditional. The renditions are mostly quite brief with only six of the 21 songs are over two minutes in length and none exceeding three minutes, with some only being a chorus long. The lack of development and the emphasis on straightforward readings of the lyrics and melodies, along with the fact that these performances are geared towards young children, make the heartfelt results only recommended for specialized tastes. © Scott Yanow /TiVo **********
