Originally taught how to play the piano by a retired wedding singer, at eighteen Tor enrolled on the prestigious Clive Davis School of Recorded Music at New York University, developing both his voice and songwriting. Signed to Glassnote Records (Phoenix, Mumford and Sons, Chvrches, Childish Gambino) in 2014, Torposted a series of part iPhone recorded demos - just piano and voice online - which quickly helped to introduce this exciting, raw young talent to a wider audience far sooner than hed anticipated. Tors debut EP Headlights was released in January of 2015, followed by Carter and Cash last summer, the first single off debut album American English on Glassnote Records. The New York based musician, singer and songwriter has gone through something of a transition in the eighteen months since he launched his debut EP Headlights and released the lead track off the debut album “Carter & Cashâ€. Since embarking on a full headline tour this past January and hitting the road with Norwegian press-darling Aurora this spring, Tor has gone from gracing club stages as a solo pianist to fronting his own band. He has seamlessly combined the art of sitting focused and entranced behind a keyboard, to standing front-and-centre of the stage for his fans. This invigorated live set showcases Tor’s rawness of expression and captivating vocals in a whole new experience for fans.
