Fausto Papetti (28 January 1923 – 15 June 1999) was an Italian alto
saxophone player. His recordings, sometimes under the pseudonym Fausto Danieli,
are also characterized by album art with sexy women posing half naked. His works
have been widely known all over the world for the last six decades. He has
played the majority of the most famous pop & jazz songs, in a career spanning 45
years. He was born at Viggiu in Lombardy. His performance of the song Loves Theme
(originally by Barry Whites Love Unlimited Orchestra) was featured on the
breakbeat compilation Ultimate Breaks and Beats.Papetti reached the height of
his popularity in the 1960s and 1970s, and all of his new albums were hits (most
of which were also released in the Latin American market). During the 1970s,
Papetti also released two collections a year, the best-selling being the 20th
one from 1975. These records are also characterized for their sexy covers, often
featuring topless nudity. His influence on saxophone music was substantial and
in the 1970s many imitators appeared, like Johnny Sax and Piergiorgio Farina.
