Expat English guitarist performs deconstructed Delta blues in Lebanon; more or
less sums up 'Radio Paradise: Mike Cooper in Beirut'. Equipped with a kaoss pad,
acoustic and electric lap steel guitars, Cooper sings standards and his own
songs to an abstracted, improvised backing of string swirl, droning basses and
field recordings in a positively PoMo fashion. There's something endearingly
ramshackle yet clever about Mike Cooper's music that's always got our interests
