       Scream (also informally known as Scream 5) is an upcoming American
slasher film that serves as the fifth installment of the Scream film series. It
is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and written by James
Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. 
Filming took place in Wilmington, North Carolina, from September to November
2020. The film is scheduled to be released on January 14, 2022.

On May 12, 2021, it was confirmed that Brian Tyler would score the soundtrack
for the film. Tyler had previously worked with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler
Gillett on Ready or Not, and would be replacing Marco Beltrami, who composed the
score for the previous four films.
