Soweto: Volume 3 by Strut Records, which also delves into the rich musical
traditions of South Africa. The CD spans a wide range of styles, from classic
jazz swing to Marabi — an energetic township music from the
1930s–1940s, and Mbaqanga — a vibrant African jazz style of the
1950s, blending local melodies with Marabi and American jazz.
