       On January 10, 2025, Ulysses Arts will release Stephen Horne's soundtrack
for Alfred Hitchcock's 1929 silent film The Manxman. The music was orchestrated
and conducted by Ben Palmer, performed by the Orchestra da Camera di Pordenone,
featuring soloists Louisa Hayter (oboe) and Jeff Moore (violin).

On January 11, 2025, the film will be screened with a live performance of the
soundtrack at Grace Cathedral as part of the San Francisco Silent Film Festival.

Stephen Horne, a leading composer and performer of music for silent films, is
the resident musician at the British Film Institute in London. He regularly
performs at international film festivals and has recorded scores for many
restored classic and rediscovered silent films. In 2021, he released the album
Silent Sirens, featuring solo piano pieces based on his silent film soundtracks.

In 2022, in collaboration with conductor and orchestrator Ben Palmer, Horne
completed two orchestral scores for films he had previously arranged for smaller
ensembles. Stella Dallas, commissioned by MoMA, premiered at the Venice Film
Festival, while The Manxman was the closing gala presentation at the Le Giornate
del Cinema Muto festival in Pordenone, Italy.
