The Japanese record company Three Blind Mice promotes jazz music. We attract the
best musicians and sound engineers to create a unique style on the global music
scene through fresh and refined playing and singing techniques. The music is
soothing and unhurried, and the artistic concept is poetic. The timbre of the
recordings is magnificent and rich, but at the same time clear and transparent.
The layers are thin and meticulous, but the dynamics are great. This is almost
the effect that all sound engineers dream of, but it seems to be found only in
recordings of "Three Blind Mice".
The "pure and refined" sound of "Three Blind Mice" is praised all over the
world. Each piece of music is a charming poem that makes you feel relaxed, happy
and enchanted. Please relax and enjoy. I am sure that you will enjoy this
recording and keep it in your memory.
By the age of 12, I was deeply impressed by jazz music. Since then, I have loved
and preferred jazz for almost 40 years. At the age of 17, I decided to start a
small jazz label, thinking that by the time I turned 30, there would be no other
jazz labels in Japan.
In June 1970, I founded a small jazz label, Three Blind Mice (TBM), to promote
the concept of "Let jazz spread everywhere in Japan." Since I've been living
with this idea for 12 years, I've got the right idea about the serious situation
on the jazz scene. If the goal was to make money, I understand perfectly well
that it would not be worth choosing jazz as your life's work. However, I also
understand that creating a hit is not everything.
In my teens and twenties, I was dissatisfied with the jazz music created in
Japan. However, it's only natural that major labels focus their efforts on
making a profit. Consequently, there is not much interest from a minority of
jazz fans. Major labels don't miss any profitable jazz bands. As a result, they
won't accept underrated musicians and talented unknown newcomers. My goal is to
provide talented but unknown musicians with the opportunity to succeed and
popularize jazz music in Japan.
